Power to the People

Updated: Jul 30

When we talk about Durham, what are we saying? Are we talking about Southpoint? Braggtown? Duke? OND? Hayti? Walltown? The list of communities goes on, and the people who live in our different neighborhoods have vastly different needs. We are a city of 300,000 people and growing whose population is divided up into only three wards for representation. This is not okay, and it does not accurately speak for our city. As a Councilor, I will work toward implementing a fair six ward map that gives a better voice to the diversity of Durham, eliminating at-large seats.
